The Course was originally linked to the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants and includes activities to be carried out between sessions such as a small amount of research, observations and directed tasks with pupils.

What we provide

Following the success of the previous 4 day TA courses we relaunched the programme. The participants (which included a Deputy Head) felt the course was excellent for SENCo’s as well as Teaching Assistants.

This course is designed for staff to further develop their knowledge and skills in working with a range of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Challenging Behaviour

The outcome of the 4 day training course will be to develop  knowledge and understanding of children’s needs to enable children to make progress across all areas. 

Course content includes:

  • Awareness of Special Educational Needs & Disabilities such as ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH, Tourette Syndrome & SLCN 
  • Practical strategies 
  • Writing Social Stories and using comic strip conversations 
  • Visual Strategies
  • Sensory Processing
  • Social Skills Groups
  • Behaviour Management

The cost of this 4 day course is £395 which includes all course materials, lunch and refreshments
